Qatargas is participating as a ‘Platinum Sponsor’ in the 3rd Middle East Turbomachinery Symposium (METS 2015) being held at the Sheraton Doha Hotel from 15 – 18 February under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry.
The biennial event, organized by The Turbomachinery Laboratory (Turbo Lab) of the Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) is being hosted by Qatar Petroleum and supported by the Texas A&M University at Qatar.
The event offers an opportunity for industry leaders to share ideas, exchange technical knowledge and discuss ongoing industry related issues. As the world’s premier LNG Company, Qatargas views its participation in the symposium as an opportunity to keep abreast of the latest technological advancements in the oil and gas industry.
METS 2015 features a world-class educational forum for turbomachinery engineers with a total of 8 discussion groups, 10 tutorials, 12 lectures, and 18 case studies on various topics such as Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), wet gas, vibration, gas turbines, surge, and cavitation. Technical sessions will also cover topics on maintenance, design, and troubleshooting as well as short case studies describing in-the-field problems and their real-world solutions.
Qatargas engineers are delivering two technical presentations as part of the case study sessions being held as part of the symposium. Qatargas is also participating in three discussion groups during the conference. A number of engineering professionals from Qatargas are attending the various sessions at the symposium.
